GES – Global Energy Services obtained last year a turnover of 80 million euros from projects in the wind power market, representing 22% of the company’s total business, which in 2022 was 350 million euros. Despite the highest growth in photovoltaic energy projects in recent years, the figures for the wind business highlight the robustness of this market and the strategic role played by GES in the international wind market, where it has established itself as a comprehensive provider of engineering, construction and maintenance solutions for wind and photovoltaic projects.
Just as an example, GES built its first wind farm in El Perdón (Navarra) in 1994. Since then, 29 years have passed during which GES has built 15.2 GW and installed more than 30 GW in the international wind market. Of these, in Spain it has built 8.1 GW, installed more than 14 GW and maintains 4 GW.
Excellent prospects
Despite the complicated situation in which the sector currently finds itself due to delays in the start-up of projects, mainly as a result of delays in obtaining administrative permits and the extension for obtaining the Administrative Construction Permits, wind energy is expected to accelerate its presence in the coming years. In fact, GES has a business portfolio of around 1,300 MW of wind and 1,700 MW of photovoltaic, in addition to the 570 MW currently under execution, most of which will be completed by 2024. This highlights excellent prospects for the coming year.
The company is currently developing wind projects in Aragon and Galicia. And as regards the international market, it is carrying out projects in Chile and Mexico in both engineering and construction, to which must be added Italy for O&M. In addition, it is worth mentioning countries all over Europe. Latin America and North Africa, where GES performs the installation of wind turbines.
360º global supplier
During GES’s 29 years of activity, the company has become a reference partner for the major players in the sector, both energy companies and the main developers and independent producers in Spain and the international market, as well as investors focused on renewables and large international corporations.
GES has established itself as a 360º global supplier, with comprehensive customer services and in this context, the company is also growing in the field of wind and photovoltaic operations and maintenance.
