CONSTRUCTION OF A 49 MW PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT BEGINS IN SPAIN
Huelva 2020 PV plant is located in Huelva province – Spain
Last 28th February the first stone of the photovoltaic plant Huelva 2020 was placed. This ceremony is the starting point of the works of the Project sited in Gibraleon, province of Huelva, Spain. The plant, once finished, will have an installed power of 49 MWp and will generate yearly 95 million of kilowatts/hour, equivalent to the annual consumption of energy of a town with 125.000 population.
The plant, property of Alter Enersun, will have more than 130.000 photovoltaic panels and will take up more than 80 hectares. The project was awarded to the company at the Third Auction of Renewable Energies celebrated in Spain at 2017. GES will be responsible for the execution of the full EPC. The multinational company specialized in construction of renewable plants will be in charge of the detailed l engineering, equipment supply, civil works, mechanical assembly, electric installation and the construction of the step-up substation.
After a few years that the activity of GES in Spain has been focused, almost exclusively, on wind projects, the multinational comes back to the photovoltaic activity in Spain with the construction of this project that will be the biggest in the Iberian Peninsula. GES is currently building another photovoltaic plan in Mexico and forecasts to increase its portfolio of photovoltaic projects this year.
