GES – Global Energy Services secures four contracts to build nearly 600 MWp of solar capacity worth €225 million

GES – Global Energy Services has secured four new contracts for the delivery of three solar clusters and one standalone solar PV plant in Aragon and the Valencia region. Together, the projects comprise twelve solar plants with a combined installed capacity of 583.41 MWp and a total contract value of €225 million.

Three of the four contracts have been awarded by new clients, highlighting GES’s ability to strengthen its position as a leading EPC contractor in the Spanish market while continuing to expand its customer base. The fourth contract has been awarded by a long-standing client with whom the company has delivered more than 1 GWp of solar capacity over recent years.

As José Luis García Donoso, Chief Executive Officer of GES, explains:

“These contract awards are the result of the continuous strengthening of our capabilities and, above all, represent a clear endorsement of our value proposition by the market. The addition of new clients, together with the continued trust of some of the leading players in the Spanish renewable energy sector, reinforces our position as a trusted EPC partner and supports our long-term growth strategy”.

Projects at a glance

The first cluster involves the construction of two solar PV plants in the province of Zaragoza, with a combined capacity of 93.52 MWp. The facilities will generate renewable electricity capable of supplying approximately 47,000 households and are expected to enter operation in the second half of 2027.

The second contract, also located in Zaragoza, covers the construction of a single 132.92 MWp solar PV plant. It is the first project that GES will deliver for a renewable energy investor with an extensive track record in Spain and includes the required provisions for the future hybridisation of the plant with a battery energy storage system (BESS). This project demonstrates GES’s capability as an EPC contractor able to integrate multiple technologies within a single development.

The remaining two contracts relate to the construction of two solar clusters for a renewable energy developer that joins GES’s client portfolio for the first time. The projects comprise nine solar PV plants with a combined capacity of 356.97 MWp. Three of these plants will be located in Aragon and account for 159.47 MWp, while the remaining six facilities in the Valencia region will contribute a further 197.5 MWp.

These new awards further consolidate GES’s growth in the solar EPC market, where the company is expected to exceed €200 million in revenue in Spain during 2026, doubling turnover compared to the previous year. The company also continues to strengthen its teams with key strategic hires while advancing its international expansion, with a particular focus on the Americas. GES is currently completing one of the largest hybrid renewable energy projects in the Southern Cone, integrating wind, solar PV and BESS technologies with a total installed capacity of 697 MW. In addition, the company is participating in the tendering process for several solar and wind projects across Latin America, most of them incorporating battery storage solutions.

Francisco Javier Rangel, Head of Solar Construction for Iberia at GES, commented:

“We are extremely proud of our ability to simultaneously deliver more than 1 GW of solar PV projects across different stages of construction and spanning six provinces, while maintaining the highest standards of execution. Reaching this level of activity in today’s Spanish market is a strong endorsement of the confidence that clients and investors place in GES”.
