GES – Global Energy Services has started the construction of three new renewable projects in Aragon for Forestalia with a combined capacity of 123 MW. Specifically, these are 2 photovoltaic projects: Mudejar I, located in the municipality of Andorra, in Teruel, with a capacity of 50MW; San Miguel D, in the municipalities of Quinto de Ebro and Fuentes de Ebro, in Zaragoza, with a capacity of 33MW and a wind development, Canteras III, also located in Quinto de Ebro and Fuentes de Ebro, which will incorporate 7 wind turbines and will have an installed capacity of 40MW.
The investment in the three facilities represents more than 75 million euros, which will provide an important boost to local development during all phases of the project, both in construction and in the operation and maintenance of the infrastructures.
84 tonnes less CO2 per year
With these three projects, nearly 91,000 homes will benefit from the production of clean energy from renewable sources, in addition to reducing the emission of 84 tonnes of CO2 per year from the production of energy from non-renewable sources.
Forestalia has awarded GES – Global Energy Services with the execution of its work in these three developments thanks to its capacity to execute large-scale projects in Spain and the rest of the world, its specialisation in the renewable energy sector and its track record in EPC for the photovoltaic sector. In fact, both companies have worked together on other renewable projects, such as the Las Majas VI wind farm in Campo Belchite, Zaragoza, a 49.5 MW facility where GES was responsible for the complete BoP (engineering, civil works and medium voltage grid).
In the words of José Luis García Donoso, CEO of GES – Global Energy Services: “We are pleased to work once again with Forestalia, which is making great contributions to the development of renewable energies with a strong focus on sustainability and wellbeing for communities, an effort that we support as a benchmark supplier within the sector“.
Forestalia’s CEO, Carlos Reyero, points out that “the development of these projects is a clear example of Forestalia’s vision of sustainability, not only in the generation of renewable energies, but also in its commitment to social and economic development“.
