GES CLOSES A CONTRACT WITH THE LEADING GERMAN POWER PRODUCER, RWE, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WIND FARM IN SORIA OF 43 MW.
GES is responsible for the complete BOP (engineering, civil works and medium voltage network) of the Rea Unificado wind farm in Soria.
GES, integral provider of engineering, construction, and maintenance for renewable energies (wind and solar photovoltaic) has just closed its first contract with the leading German power producer, RWE. The contract is related to the construction of a 43.2 MW wind farm in Soria, composed by 9 wind turbines of 4.8 MW each. GES has already started the engineering tasks, and civil works will start this month and will last for seven months. The plant is expected to start operating in December 2022.
GES is responsible for the engineering and construction works of the project, for which it is also in charge of the complete BOP, both the civil works (with more than 11.5 kilometres of roads and the 9 foundations and platforms for the turbines), as well as the medium voltage network (18/30 kV) and a series of adaptations at the Trévago substation.
The wind farm is located in the province of Soria, in the municipalities of Trévago, Valdelagua del Cerro, Fuentrestrun and Castilruiz, and has been named “Rea Unificado”.
Soria
The province of Soria aspires to become a benchmark in the production of renewables energies. In the middle of the process of decarbonization of the energy model, in the next few months the installation of several wind and photovoltaic plants will begin in that province, which together will represent more than 600 MW installed and an investment of more than 650 million euros.
