GES – Global Energy Services, a leading provider of engineering, construction and renewable energy services, has appointed Sergio Martínez Zarza as Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and M&A. In this role, he will lead the company’s business development, international expansion and strategic growth initiatives.
Sergio Martínez’s appointment represents a key step in GES’s strategy to accelerate growth in strategic markets, expand its international footprint and strengthen new business lines linked to the energy transition. In this context, the company will continue to pursue both organic growth and the identification of opportunities that enhance its capabilities, strengthen its market position and support expansion into new markets.
Sergio brings more than 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. He previously spent over a decade at GES, where he led sales and business development activities across the Latin American and EMEA regions.
During the past three years at Avalon Renewables, Sergio broadened his experience in the development of energy transition projects from the developer’s perspective, including green hydrogen and its derivatives, such as e-ammonia, e-methanol and e-SAF, as well as biomethane. This period strengthened his end-to-end understanding of project development, providing valuable insight into the technical, commercial and financial challenges involved in structuring, maturing and delivering complex energy projects.
For GES, Sergio’s return brings together deep knowledge of the organisation and a strong strategic understanding of the market at a particularly important stage in the company’s growth journey. The creation of this position reflects GES’s commitment to consolidating its presence in existing markets while exploring new development opportunities that will continue to generate value for its customers.
